Level 1 - Baby Signing Time Instructor ($199.99)

The focus of a Baby Signing Time (BST) Instructor is to introduce ASL vocabulary to parents/caregivers and to children age three and under for the purpose of early/enhanced communication.

The following guidelines apply to all Certified BST Instructors:

• BST Instructors are required to complete at least one approved ASL course. (See section entitled ASL Education Requirements for details.)
• BST Instructors are authorized to teach the Baby Signing Time curriculum to parents/caregivers and their children age three and under. As an instructor, you can choose to narrow down that age range to suit your needs.
• BST Instructors are also authorized to teach the Introduction to Signing Time Presentation (one class for parents, 30-60 minutes) and Signing Time Workshop (one class for parents, 90 min+).
• BST Instructors may not teach children older than three, and may not present to or teach a group of professionals in any field. The scope for this level is limited to parents/caregivers with or without their child under three.
• All Instructors are required to teach a minimum of 24 students on an annual basis to maintain certification. Supporting documentation is required.

• Four Baby Signing Time Music CDs
• Four Baby Signing Time Flash Cards sets
• Introduction to Signing Time Presentation (one class, 30-60 minutes)

Annual Licensing & Membership Fee: In addition to the initial application and start-up kit fee, all Instructors must pay an annual licensing and membership fee billed at $9.95/month over 12 months, or discounted if paid all at once ($100). Level 2 - Advanced Signing Time Instructor ($399.99)

The focus of an Advanced Signing Time (AST) Instructor is to introduce Signing Time and ASL vocabulary to adults and children of all ages and adults that have an interest in learning signs for any reason.

The following guidelines apply to all certified AST Instructors:

• AST Instructors are required to complete at least two approved ASL courses. (See ASL Education Requirements for details.)
• AST Instructors can teach the BST curriculum and also the Signing Time curriculum to children and adults of all ages. As an instructor, you can choose to teach to any age range as needed. AST
• Instructors may teach babies with parents, older children, teachers, in classroom and schools, and workshops for professionals (educators, pediatricians, speech therapists) interested in learning more about the Signing Time programs and ASL.
• AST Instructors may not teach or present breakout sessions at local, national, or regional conferences. They may, however, have exhibit booths as vendors at such conferences. AST Instructors must be familiar with and own the Baby Signing Time and Signing Time Series One Products (included in Start-Up Kit).
• All Instructors are required to teach a minimum of 24 students on an annual basis to maintain certification. Supporting documentation is required.

If you are already a Level 1 Baby Signing Time instructor, you may upgrade to Level 2 after meeting the ASL Education Requirements and by paying the difference in fees (which is $200). You will receive the materials in the Level 2 Start-Up Kit, minus those materials you already received at Level 1. You must submit the additional required video of you signing and have another interview with the Director to receive approval before being granted the privileges associated with Level 2.

Level 3 – Master Signing Time Instructor ($599.99)

The focus of a Master Signing Time (MST) Instructor is to introduce Signing Time and ASL vocabulary to children (all ages) and adults that are interested in learning signs for any reason – pre-verbal communication, non-verbal communication, second language, etc.

The following guidelines apply to all certified MST Instructors:

• MST Instructors are required to complete at least four approved ASL courses. (See ASL Education Requirements for details)
• MST Instructors can use the Baby Signing Time and the Signing Time curriculum to teach classes for appropriate age groups and all professionals.
• MST Instructors have the additional privilege of presenting at large conferences, seminars, and symposiums on behalf of Signing Time, with prior approval from the Academy.
• MST Instructors must be familiar with every product offered by Two Little Hands Productions and are required to own the entire Signing Time library (included in Start-Up Kit).
• All Instructors are required to teach a minimum of 24 students on an annual basis to maintain certification. Supporting documentation is required.
